Crypto exchange Bybit is expanding its footprint in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space with the upcoming launch of its new Solana-based decentralized exchange (DEX), named Byreal.
The platform is set to officially go live in the third quarter of 2025, with a testnet version expected to roll out by the end of June. The move marks Bybit’s latest push into DeFi, leveraging the high-speed and low-cost infrastructure of the Solana blockchain.
Bybit CEO Unveils Byreal With CEX-DEX Hybrid Model
Bybit CEO Ben Zhou announced the launch via an X post on Sunday, highlighting that what sets Byreal apart is its unique blend of centralized exchange (CEX) and decentralized exchange (DEX) features.
This CEX-DEX synergy is designed to provide users with the liquidity, user experience, and security often associated with centralized platforms, while still offering the transparency and autonomy of decentralized systems.
The hybrid approach could make Byreal more appealing to users who want the best of both worlds: ease of use and strong liquidity from CEXs, and the control and transparency of DEXs.
As the crypto industry evolves, exchanges like Bybit are increasingly exploring innovative models to cater to shifting user expectations and regulatory landscapes. Byreal could become a major player in the Solana DeFi ecosystem if executed successfully.

Byreal Aims to Redefine DEX Model With Centralized Exchange Features
Bybit has emphasized that Byreal is designed to go beyond the typical decentralized exchange model by integrating features traditionally found in centralized platforms.
The exchange will combine high liquidity—usually associated with centralized exchanges—with the transparency and autonomy that define decentralized finance. This hybrid approach aims to create a seamless trading experience where users can benefit from both deep order books and onchain visibility.
According to the Byreal team, the platform represents an onchain extension of Bybit’s global trading infrastructure. Byreal is being developed to offer a secure, transparent, and efficient trading environment while maintaining the robust liquidity that centralized users expect.
The testnet for Byreal is scheduled to launch on June 30, allowing users and developers to begin experimenting with the platform’s features. The full mainnet launch is expected to follow in the third quarter of 2025.

Byreal Reflects Rising Trend to Bridge Centralized and Decentralized Finance
Bybit’s strategy with Byreal signals a growing trend among major crypto players to bridge the gap between centralized and decentralized finance.
By leveraging Solana’s fast and cost-effective blockchain, the platform is expected to deliver a highly scalable and user-friendly DEX experience while retaining the performance standards of a global exchange.
Bybit CEO Ben Zhou said Byreal will feature unified liquidity and high-speed performance, using RFQ (Request for Quote) and CLMM (Concentrated Liquidity Market Maker) routing.
This design enables low-slippage, MEV-protected swaps. RFQ lets users request pricing from multiple sources, optimizing trade execution.
CLMM allows liquidity providers to focus capital within targeted price ranges, resulting in deeper liquidity near market levels and improved trading efficiency on the platform.
