Thermal Energy company KURL Technology has undertaken another Bitcoin purchase. According to official data, published on Jan 6th, 2025, the firm bought 213.4 Bitcoin for $21 million, increasing its holdings.
Arkham Intelligence, a blockchain analytics company, stated on January 6 that the most recent transaction increased KULR’s Bitcoin holdings to 430.6 BTC, or almost $42 million, at an average purchase price of $97,537 per BTC.
The move keeps the firm in tandem with other market peers, who have also undertaken Bitcoin purchasing sprees to keep a stable reserve.
The news of repeated buying of Bitcoin has likely kept the investors afloat. This is also reflected by the stock price of the firm, which is currently up over 9% in pre-market hours.
KURL Technologies Vouches For Bitcoin Reserve
The firm had previously vouched to convert ninety percent of KULR Technology’s cash assets to Bitcoin, according to the company’s December 2024 announcement of their Bitcoin treasury strategy.
The move keeps KURL in tandem with other peers who have also undertaken a similar strategy. For example Simon Gerovich of Metaplanet has disclosed his intentions to guarantee that the company purchases around 10,000 Bitcoins by the end of the year.
After choosing to employ Bitcoin as a tactical hedge against market swings, the company entered the cryptocurrency market in May 2024.
Additionally, another name in the list that has kept its Bitcoin reserve afloat is MicroStrategy. There have also been an increase in the percentage of wagers on Polymarket that MicroStrategy would raise its Bitcoin holdings to over 500K by March of 2025.
KURL Technology Stock Price
KURL stock rose to its all-time high after the firm announced its previous Bitcoin purchase. The rise in the level of the stock price shows the confidence of investors who are largely optimistic over the firm’s Bitcoin strategy.
The company provides energy management platforms. The business and its main operation is involved in the development, production, and licensing of carbon fiber heat management technology for electronic systems and batteries.
High-performance applications in satellite communications, hypersonic vehicles, and direct energy are the focus of its solutions for DOD and aerospace applications.
Despite having no far off connections to Bitcoin, a firm like KURL venturing into a Bitcoin buying spree indicates that more institutional firms are largely interested in keeping Bitcoin as a safe reserve.
Institutional investors are drawn to Bitcoin because of its potential as a store of value and a hedge against conventional market volatility.
