Rooch Network co-founder Haichao Zhu was targeted in a robbery in Thailand’s capital. According to Zhu’s X post, he was robbed on knifepoint in Bangkok when he had arrived via a late-night flight for Ethereum Devcon conference.
Zhu also warned his followers to be safe and exercise caution while travelling at night to the conference.

After the news about Haichao Zhu’s robbery took over internet, many were worried about his safety. However, Zhu clarified that he was unharmed and only his phone had been stolen.
However, Zhu still clarified that he thinks Bangkok is generally a safe city. Additionally, he spoke with a few friends who are either local or semi-local, further adding that they were equally shocked by this. He didn’t think it was a crypto-targeted case, but advised his followers to “try not to flaunt any valuables or crypto swag on you.”

With the arrival of a pro-crypto premier in the nation, the industry appears poised to grow and could eventually become a global center for digital assets. With over 2.94 million user accounts on digital asset exchanges, Thailand accounts for more than half of the 5.5 million accounts on its stock market and 4.27% of the country’s population.
In Thailand, Tether is the most widely used cryptocurrency trading platform, holding over 40% of the market, followed by Perpetual Protocol and Optimism.
