Crypto Industry Participants Receive Pardons Under Trump

Donald Trump has highlighted the connection between cryptocurrencies and political actions throughout his presidency by pardoning a number of people working in the crypto industry.

Interestingly, he provided mercy to people like Ross Ulbricht, who founded the Silk Road marketplace, which used Bitcoin to facilitate illicit transactions. Many people had differing opinions on Trump’s pardons; some thought they were a positive move in the direction of criminal justice reform, while others thought they were controversial, particularly in light of Ulbricht’s involvement in unlawful activity.

During Trump’s administration, the legal environment surrounding digital currencies has changed, and these pardons highlight the growing prominence of the crypto market.
