Crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, widely known as “BitBoy,” has been arrested in Florida just days after revealing on social media that a warrant was issued for him.

Florida’s Volusia County Division of Corrections confirmed that Armstrong was taken into custody on March 2. He is currently listed as a fugitive from justice.

Armstrong had previously announced on X (Twitter) on March 21 that the warrant stemmed from his email exchanges with Cobb County Superior Court Judge Kimberly Childs. Acting as his attorney, he claimed that his legal communications led to the warrant.

He also accused Judge Childs of deleting her social media accounts after receiving his messages.

Past Legal Troubles

This is not the first time Armstrong has found himself in legal trouble. In September 2023, he was arrested during a YouTube livestream while attempting to confront his former colleague, Carlos Diaz, over a Lamborghini dispute.

Police stopped him before he could reach Diaz, and a search of his vehicle reportedly uncovered illegal substances.

Earlier in April 2023, Armstrong was involved in a class-action lawsuit. A judge called him to court over allegations that he had harassed the plaintiffs’ legal team.

The plaintiff’s lawyer accused him of making vulgar phone calls, leaving inappropriate voicemails, and sending threatening text messages and social media posts.

In early 2024, Armstrong stepped into the combat sports world when he fought pseudonymous memecoin developer “More Light” at a Karate Combat event in Mexico. The match took place on February 24, with Armstrong securing a victory by unanimous decision.

Despite the competition, More Light later stated there was no personal animosity, describing Armstrong as a “good guy” in real life.

Crypto Crime and Government Crackdown

Authorities worldwide are increasingly cracking down on crypto-related crimes, even when high-profile figures are involved. With the rise of fraudulent schemes and financial misconduct in the digital asset space, governments are making greater efforts to hold offenders accountable.

Regulatory agencies and law enforcement are working together to track illegal activities, ensuring that even influential individuals in the industry do not escape consequences.

Just last year, another major figure in the crypto world was arrested. Alex Andryunin, CEO of market maker Gotbit Hedge Fund, was taken into custody in Portugal.

His arrest marked another significant moment in the growing list of legal actions against crypto executives and influencers.

Ben Armstrong’s latest arrest highlights the ongoing challenges within the cryptocurrency industry, where legal battles and controversies continue to make headlines. As authorities tighten their grip on fraudulent activities, the industry is under increased scrutiny.
