Binance Charity will airdrop as much as $1.2 million of BNB from August 14, 2025, to users in the worst-hit regions of southern Taiwan following recent flooding.
The program includes Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan and Kaohsiung. Qualified users who verify their address on or before August 7 will receive $80 of BNB.
Charity Drive Launch
The relief operation was made through a blog statement by Binance Charity. It seeks to provide speedy relief to account holders impacted by days of heavy rains that triggered intense flooding and destruction.
The charity division allocated the value of NT$35 million in BNB for this airdrop, which is among its biggest single-region projects.
Users need to have submitted proof-of-address (POA) verification on Binance before August 7, 2025, and their registered address needs to be in the specified counties and cities.
Current users within the zones who have reached the deadline will be automatically credited with $80 in BNB. Nothing more is needed other than the initial POA submission.
Additional Window for New Verifications
Binance Charity will open a second window from August 7 through August 20, 2025, for the first 15,000 users in the affected areas who complete POA verification during that period.
Those newcomers will each get $30 in BNB. This step ensures that more residents can access quick relief even if they had not verified earlier.
Funds will begin arriving in eligible accounts on August 14, 2025 and will be delivered directly in BNB tokens.
Binance Charity expects to complete all airdrops within a week, depending on network conditions. Recipients can use the tokens for basic transactions, trading, or conversion to local currency to cover urgent needs.
Company Statement
Richard Teng, CEO of Binance, commented: “Our thoughts are with every community and user affected by the severe flooding in southern Taiwan. We hope this donation will provide timely and meaningful assistance. Most importantly, we sincerely wish everyone impacted a safe and swift recovery and a smooth return to normal life.”
Binance Charity has organised such emergency programs in the past. Following the Hualien earthquake, the staff immediately assisted survivors.
In March 2025, the exchange also provided assistance in Thailand, Myanmar, Argentina, Turkey and other European countries after natural disasters, based on its international volunteer network and partner organisations.
A few weeks earlier in July, Binance launched a $1 million project called “Blockchain for Vietnam” (VND 26 billion) to foster blockchain education and innovation from July 2025 through July 2027. The two-year effort funds workshops, research grants and hackathons in Vietnamese universities and tech hubs.
Additionally, in November 2024, Binance has decided to contribute a sizable amount to the relief operations in Valencia, Spain. According to the platform’s official release, Binance Charity donated a substantial $3 million to the Spanish Red Cross (Cruz Roja Española) in response to the tragic floods that struck Valencia.
As flood-ravaged communities in southern Taiwan begin to rebuild, the Binance Charity airdrop offers an immediate source of support.
