Binance Labs has unveiled its plans to rebrand in 2025. According to the official announcement from December 31st, in 2025, Binance Labs plans to rebrand with an emphasis on blockchain, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.

The renewed focus will come alongside its current expansion plans as Binance labs ventures into different related and unrelated areas.

Binance Labs to Also Focus on AI and Biotech

The three main areas of interest for Binance Labs in 2025 will be biotech, AI, and cryptocurrency/blockchain. Additionally, as lagging industries go from development to production, the firm expects to see a rebound in areas like gaming, ZK technologies, and privacy solutions, opening up new use cases.

Furthermore, current themes such as DeSci, RWAs/Stablecoins, and AI agents should continue to have great momentum and success.

Binance Labs Expands Scope of Investment

In 2025, Binance Labs is also planning on broadening its investment horizons beyond primary market transactions to include any kind of transaction, including OTC and secondary market liquids.

Since these attributes enable projects to flourish across several market cycles, the platform is searching for projects with real-world use cases, capable teams, sound roadmaps, and sustainable business models.

Binance Labs Reveals 2024 Investment Numbers

Apart from revealing its plans for 2025, Binance labs also reported its investment numbers for 2024.

The venture capital division of the well-known cryptocurrency exchange Binance, made 46 investments this year, 32 of which came from direct investments and 14 of which came from its chain-agnostic Labs’ Incubation program or the BNB-chain oriented MVB program.

Infrastructure and application deals were equally distributed, with a 50/50 split in this investment plans.

Additionally, Binance Labs has a varied portfolio that included significant Ethereum L2s, Telegram, Solana, and a few smaller investments in more established ecosystems like Stacks, Celestia, and Bittensor, as well as more up-and-coming ones like Berachain, Monad, and Initia.

Projects related to the BNB ecosystem (our MVB Program) also account for almost 20% of Binance Labs’ investments.

Binance Labs’ Earlier Investments

Binance Labs, established in 2018, has invested in over 250 projects spanning six continents, with more than 65 of these projects having gone through its incubation programs. 

The venture arm remains focused on backing innovative, sustainable projects that drive the growth of the Web3 and DeFi sectors.

Just previousy in the trading day, THENA, a decentralized exchange (DEX) and liquidity protocol based on BNB Chain, had received a strategic investment from Binance Labs.

In the same way Binance Labs also revealed earlier in December that it has invested in Usual, a decentralized stablecoin issuer.
